London Fashion Week is coming to an end, as we wait for Milan Fashion Week to bring us new collections by amazing designers. The Fashion In The City Team reviews the looks both on and off the runways capturing the essence of London Fashion Week.
It is important to keep in mind the trends we have already seen in NYFW SS19, as they transcend onto the British runways as well.
These are the trends we will see everywhere in the Summer of 2019:
As seen in NYFW SS19, florals will definitely make an appearance in our stores and into our closets next Spring and Summer. The use of this print was different on the British runways, bigger and brighter contrasts with darker fabrics.
Another trend that will certainly be adopted by the masses next year, is the use of transparent fabrics and materials. The designers at London Fashion Week showed many different ways to create pieces using transparency: from accessories like purses and headpieces carefully constructed as architectural garments.
A trend that has swept the runways is adopting motifs that would usually belong in Fall/Winter collections. In NYFW, we saw very tailored suits; London Fashion Week takes it up a notch and applies layering to the styling of the garments. Expect to see layered outfits during light breezy days, around Spring and Summer.
Though this trend was not as widespread as the others in this list, we can be sure that animal prints will be up and coming for the next season because of two very important names: Victoria Beckham and Burberry. Victoria brought this trend to light in her street style as she attended this venue, while Burberry showcased it on the runway.
